Billy Kelly's “This Is A Family Show!” is a stand-up comedy experience parents and kids can enjoy together. It’s comedy toast with the crust cut off; if the crust was all that pesky talk about dating, politics, the DMV, money, and the Department of Motor Vehicles so common in today’s stand-up. The toast part? That is all nutritious jokes about nocturnal animals, microwaves, Ben Franklin and people throwing turtles. You’ll laugh, your kids will laugh, and the turtles are imaginary so don’t worry about them. Everybody wins! Finally a comedy show where adults and kids can sit side by side laughing together and nobody has to cover anybody else's ears! “An endearingly oddball sense of humor.” — NPR

Over the course of his 20-year career, Grammy-nominated family entertainer Billy Kelly has opened for President Barack Obama, duetted with Davy Jones of The Monkees, and released a critically acclaimed family-friendly stand-up comedy album — in that order. Billy loves making people laugh and doesn’t see why kids can’t be in on the fun.

Audible is home to a growing catalogue of extraordinary kids performances that fuel children’s’ imaginations, including productions from best-selling children’s artist Laurie Berkner, two-time Grammy nominee Morgan Taylor, and Newbery Award-winner Jack Gantos.

April Fool's Prank

My wife Jackie and I played a little April Fool's Day prank on our friendly neighborhood mailman, and it somehow turned into national news! We made a 10-foot-long envelope, addressed it, put a stamp on it and stuck the end out of our front-door mail slot for our mailman to pick up. When we saw the mailman coming we hid in our car and watched him pull the looooooong envelope out of the slot. When he got to the end of the envelope it said "APRIL FOOL'S!" in big letters and we hopped out of the car to share a good laugh with him — and apologize! Good clean fun.

We shared some photos from our prank on my facebook page and the word spread. Our local TV news station, WNEP, got wind of the prank via Facebook™ and that night anchorman Jim Hamill did a very nice, quick, report on it in his newscast. THAT report brought the story to the attention of ABC News, who ran it on their web site and on TV. By April 3rd the ABC News video of our little prank had over 1 million views! Yikes! You can check out their take on the prank right here!

For the record, our mailman thought the prank was very funny and he was as delighted as Jackie and myself with the interest in the story. It's nice to know that lots of people got a little chuckle out of our silly trick. And in conclusion, your shoe is untied.

Brokerage Comedy Club & Jalopy Theater

I did two swell shows in the greater NYC area over Thanksgiving weekend — one at Governor's Comedy @ The Brokerage Comedy Club in Bellmore, NY (my hometown) and one at The Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn. We had great crowds at both shows and as always I thoroughly enjoyed doing stand-up comedy for kids and adults. This is a really fun gig and I look forward to lots more shows in 2017. If you think I should come to your town for a show, send me a message at billy at the

Here be a pic from the Jalopy Theater show in Carroll Gardens. CoOoOol joint!

You Nork Times!

My November NYC-area comedy shows got a nice plug from the Gray Lady herself — more like the Great Lady, amirite? — The New York Times.

Extra! Extra! Read allll about it right here!

An added bonus was the fun blurb (excuse me!) on, which linked to the main article. "Mr. Kelly ... performs comedy that some have found offensively clean" Hashtag OffensivelyClean!

My Special First SiriusXM Kids Place Live "My First Comedy Album" Special!

My First Comedy Album is being aired in it's entirety 4 (four) (cuatro) (IV) times as a special presentation this weekend on SiriusXM channel, "Kids Place Live". About this I am very excited. Super grateful I am as well. Sorry — Yoda helped me write those last two sentences. Beat it, Yoda! Take it from here I will.

"Kids Place Live" is absolutely one of the coolest, most interesting channels on SiriusXM and it is a thrill to have my comedy shared on their satellite airwaves. Big thanks to ALLLL the nice people at KPL — especially Program Director Mindy Thomas, aka Absolutely Mindy. And thanks to all who tune in and enjoy!

Nëw Vëbsîte

I have a new web site. This is it. I hope you like said new website and enjoy reading and seeing things on it. History will little note nor long remember what I post here, but it cannot forget who built the website and who took the photos and shot the videos that are on the aforementioned new website.

For the photographs I must thank my good friend and fellow comedian Sheila Lintott, phunny person and fotographer extraordinaire. She's so good you don't even have to say cheese when she takes your picture. Thanks Sheila!

The photo of me at the bar sullenly downing a juicebox between shows was taken by my pal Paul Smith, who also gets a shout out for recording, mixing and mastering the live shows that became "My First Comedy Album" — so thanks and thanks, Paul!

Daniel Nienhuis pulled together all my various scraps of animation and audio in something called After Effects to produce my BK-buy-a-dozen-eggs video. Mérci Daniel.

Daniel also shot footage with fellow filmmaker Jordan Gibson for my newest live performance video. Jordan also edited the video and made it look super, so danke, Jordan!

Aaaaand the biggest thanks of all goes to my incredible wife Jackie Leigh Kelly for building my entire dang web site and for showing me how to update it. I am totally updating this blog alll by myslef rightght nwo! To show my appreciation for my darling wife I am sharing a cartoon I drew the other day to make fun of her. Thanks, dear!

Thanks again to all who helped, and if I forgot anyone MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE HELPED MORE!!!
